Recently, I was asked by Ascot Motorsports of California, if I would concept and shoot a 30 second commercial spot for them to be aired during the Superprestigio of the Americas Race out in Las Vegas, NV. Our plan was to marry historic Ascot Raceway footage (specifically the 1970 TT Race) with present day footage of riders competing in a hooligan style race. The original concept was to use team rider Wes Case of Threepence on his bike, "The Mutant" as our hero, however we had to push the story in a slightly different direction when Wes crashed taking a practice lap, subsequently breaking his collarbone. Crash aside, the overall picture hadn't changed, just the characters. Thus, the idea was simple; tie the past to the present and make people want to get out and go fast.
